CCSO and other law enforcement agencies came out to raise money for Special Olympics Georgia

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), whose team name was Plunge Crazy, jumped into the icy waters of Acworth Beach in the middle of winter to show their support for Special Olympics Georgia athletes on Feb. 24, 2024.

Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising effort benefiting the Special Olympics with states across the nation participating in this annual event through the efforts of their Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) program.

This year commemorated CCSO's decade-long involvement in the Polar Plunge, where they successfully raised $3,890. This generous contribution will enable 38 athletes to partake in the Olympic Games!

Beyond the thrill of icy waters, the CCSO created an environment of safety and community partnership, interacting with other fellow plungers and sharing valuable insights while also ensuring everyone’s wellbeing. Decked out in their deck of cards costume, members of the CCSO showcased their commitment to supporting local citizens as well as the main cause of this event. Here's to more chilly adventures and heartwarming moments in the years to come.
