Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Fatherhood and Personal Growth at the 3rd Annual “Live Nobly” Father’s Day Program

Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Fatherhood and Personal Growth at the 3rd Annual “Live Nobly” Father’s Day Program 

 

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) hosted its annual “Live Nobly” Father’s Day Program on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. The event brought together community leaders, faith leaders, and members of the Divine Nine fraternities to encourage and inspire detainees through messages centered on fatherhood, personal responsibility, leadership, and positive community engagement.

The program was emceed by Chief of Staff David Jones and featured remarks from Sheriff Craig Owens, Detention Center Commander Col. Michael Williams, and Dr. J. Sebastian Anderson, director of the Parenting 101 Program. Dr. Anderson led participants in an affirmation statement focused on personal growth and the importance of fatherhood.

Representatives from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. shared powerful messages of mentorship, accountability, service, and perseverance. Speakers encouraged attendees to embrace opportunities for change, strengthen family relationships, and return to their communities with purpose.

The program also included voter education and civic engagement remarks from Edward Davis, chairman of Voter Registration, Education, and Mobilization for the Omega Psi Phi Georgia State Organization.

Through meaningful dialogue and personal testimony, the “Live Nobly” program reinforced the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to rehabilitation, family engagement, and preparing individuals for successful reentry into society. The annual event continues to provide a platform for encouragement, reflection, and hope as participants work toward becoming stronger fathers, leaders, and community members.
