Fingerprinting

The Fingerprint Section is located in the basement of the Public Safety Building at 185 Roswell Street, Marietta, Georgia. The hours of operation are from 8:00 A.M. through 4:00 P.M. There is also a break for lunch from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. No appointment is necessary or accepted. This section prepares the fingerprint cards for civil matters such as:

  • Adoptions
  • Firearm permits
  • Employment

The Sheriff's Office fee for fingerprinting is $15.00 CASH for up to 3 cards

Effective September 30, 2022, Cobb County Sheriff’s Office will implement the use of a Kiosk to process all fees for Background Checks and Fingerprinting.

The Kiosk WILL NOT provide change.

There will be a $3.00 Service Fee for all transactions.
There will be an additional 3% fee of the total amount for each credit card transaction.

Background Check and Fingerprinting fees will increase as follows:

Hours:
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Friday
CLOSED from NOON to 1:00 PM

We DO NOT provide fingerprinting for Immigration and Naturalization Service & www.uscis.gov. There are no requirements for fingerprinting to obtain a United States passport. If you are parents, the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office will provide you with fingerprint cards of your children for free. The actual cards and information are not maintained by this agency but are provided to the legal guardians for safe-keeping. The fingerprint cards may prove invaluable in the event of a lost child. This service is offered to protect the welfare of all children.
