MARIETTA, GA (Nov. 15, 2023) - Cobb County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies assigned to the Field Operations Division, were serving a warrant at Extended Stay America located at 1967 Leland Dr., when they encountered the wanted suspect.

The suspect fought with deputies and then ran into surrounding tree lines. Other deputies and members of the K9, F.A.S.T. and Drone Units came out. 

The Drone Unit followed the suspect into a neighboring apartment complex off Woodchase Ln. The suspect was found hiding in the laundry room of the apartment building and was taken into custody without incident. Further charges will follow.

This is a great example of using new emerging technology to assist in law enforcement needs. CCSO has one of the largest Drone Units in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
