Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Nov. 15 Community Briefing


MARIETTA, GA (Nov. 7, 2023) -- Since Sheriff Craig Owens took office in 2021, he has remained committed to rebuilding trust between the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and its residents by being truthful and transparent. The CCSO community briefing is an event where residents can meet the Sheriff and CCSO leadership to learn more about the agency and ask questions. 

Who: Cobb County Sheriff’s Office

What: A free open-to-the-public community briefing that allows community leaders and residents of Cobb County to learn how the sheriff’s office is working hard to keep its residents safe and to understand the services the sheriff's office provides. We will also swear in our newest horses to the mounted patrol unit before the community briefing begins. 

Topics of interest include but are not limited to public safety operations, the latest frauds and scams to look out for, programs within the jail, and employment opportunities. 

Featured presenters at this community briefing include Sheriff Craig Owens; Assistant Chief Deputy Gina V. Hawkins; Col. David Gallmon, Commander of the Support Division; Col Ryan Mehling, Commander of the Field Operations Division; Col. Michael A. Williams, Commander of the Adult Detention Center; Lt. Col. Arthur Peralta, Assistant Commander of Criminal Investigations Division, Shana Adams, Administrative Manager; and Capt. Jacob Huval, Internal Affairs and Recruiting. This event is family-friendly, and refreshments will be provided. 

When: Nov. 15, 2023 | Event: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | Doors open at 5:30 p.m. | Media check-in is at 5:30 p.m. | Horse swear-in begins at 5:45 p.m.

Why: This is the final community briefing for 2023 and an opportunity for the public to meet key members of the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and receive important public safety updates.
