Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Hosted April 30th Community Briefing

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) hosted its first community briefing of the year. As part of Sheriff Owens’ ongoing commitment to fostering trust and transparency with the residents of Cobb County, the event provided an opportunity for community members to engage with Sheriff Owens and the command staff, gaining insights into agency operations and posing questions.

The event kicked off with a special show and tell for attendees to meet the four-legged public safety professionals, including the Mounted Patrol and K-9 units and an interactive display of VR Training and self-defense tactics.

The community briefing showcased presentations by Sheriff Craig D. Owens Sr. and division commanders. During the event, we recognized graduates from our first Citizens Academy, along with our high school interns, marking a significant first for CCSO.

One notable highlight of the evening was "Cobb Campus Connect: Bridging Students, Community, and Law Enforcement," which facilitated dialogue between Cobb college students and representatives from the sheriff's office. Students posed questions ranging from inquiries about the distinctions between a police department and the Sheriff's Office to suggestions for how CCSO can contribute to diffusing community tensions.

Attendees had the opportunity to gain insights into the operations of the Cobb County Sheriff's Office and discuss important issues affecting the community. We are grateful for the positive outcomes of this event and eagerly anticipate hosting another community briefing later this year. Stay tuned for updates and announcements about future events. Thank you for your support and participation in strengthening our community partnerships.
