  • Sheriff Caption: The city of Roswell was originally a part of Cobb County. It became incorporated in 1854 as the Town of Roswell. The Sheriff’s Office provided the law enforcement for the city. In the 1870’s the city of Roswell created a constable position that further provided local law enforcement.

John Anderson, once again, became sheriff in 1854.
