Commander Robert Quigley joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2015 as director of communications and information and in 2016 was appointed to the rank of Lt. Colonel. In 2018 he was assigned the rank of Commander and serves as assistant commander of the Administrative Division. The administrative team is responsible for technology, public affairs, agency training, media relations, internal affairs, human resources, open records compliance, bonding, accountability and treatment courts, the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy and the agency’s fleet of vehicles.
Previously, he spent 15 years as the Cobb County Communications Director overseeing external communications including crisis communications, web site operations, public engagement, content development and video productions.
He graduated from the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism in 1991 and worked for the Cobb County Police Department as a patrol officer and the department’s public information officer before beginning his tenure as county communications director.
Married with two children, Robert attends NorthStar Church in Acworth and serves in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
