Cobb Law Enforcement Conduct Arrest/Warrant Sweep

On Wednesday, December 1, 2010 between the hours of 6:30 pm and 1:30 am, law enforcement officials from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, the Marietta Police Department, the Marietta/Cobb/ Smyrna Cobra Unit and the Cobb County Fire Tactics Med Ops conducted an arrest/ warrant sweep resulting in the arrest of 33 individuals.  The operation targeted Franklin Road, Bentley Road, Roswell Road and Powers Ferry Road in East Cobb.  The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Field Services Unit was the coordinating agency.

 

Last night’s joint effort resulted in the arrest of 21 individuals with outstanding warrants in Cobb County.  According to Sheriff Neil Warren, another eleven were arrested on drug and traffic charges, and one had an outstanding warrant from another state.  Over $2500 was seized, as well as several dozen prescription drugs and a small amount of marijuana.

 

Some of the individuals apprehended were:

Tremayne Anthony Rivers, 32 yoa ,of Marietta. Georgia.  Arrested on a Fugitive from Justice Warrant out of Florida;

Stephen Corey Lewis, 27 yoa, of Marietta, GA . Charged with Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving Distribution of a Controlled Substance; No Proof of Insurance, Suspended Registration  and Driving with a Suspended License;

Walter Fowler Wilson, 45 yoa, of Marietta, GA.  Arrested for Probation Violation.  His original charges were Terroristic Threats and Acts; 

Jovan Eugene Perin – 32 yoa, of Atlanta, GA.  Charged with Possession of Marijuana with the intent to Distribute, Possession of Oxycodone with the intent to Distribute, Obstruction of an Officer and Criminal Trespass.

 Amanda Nazario, 19 yoa, of Marietta, GA.  Arrested on a Probation Violation Warrant.  Her original charge was Possession of a Weapon on School property.

 

 “This cooperative effort is another law enforcement tool we use to combat the criminal element in Cobb County and help maintain a safe environment in our community” stated Warren.  “We are all here to protect and serve and it is important for us to work together.  The citizens deserve no less.”
