Statement Regarding Today’s Hearing “I
appreciate Judge Staley giving all parties in this case an opportunity to
address the Court and eliminate any confusion that may have occurred. In my
opinion, Ms. Colotl deserves no special treatment
through the criminal justice process.
She has a history of no respect for authority or the laws of this
state. All individuals in this
country, no matter what their legal status is, must obey our laws and face
the consequences of their actions.
When special treatment is given to repeat offenders, the wrong message
is sent to our youth and other members in our society. However, it is
the District Attorney’s discretion to place Ms. Colotl
in the Diversion Program – not mine.” #
