COBB COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE

Maryland Suspect Accused of the Murder of his Twin Brother Arrested in Cobb County.

On Thursday, September 15, 2011 at approximately 4:30 am, members of the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit and Sheriff’s Office FAST Unit (Fugitive Apprehension and Support Team) assisted two Howard County Sheriff’s Office Detectives from Maryland with the arrest of Wael Gihad Ali, 23 years of age for the charge of Murder-First Degree. Ali was wanted out of Maryland and was located at 2304 Saint Simons Drive in Marietta, GA.  

Ali is accused of killing his twin brother, Wasel Gihad Ali in 2007 by placing him in some type of choke hold crushing his neck. Ali was apprehended and transported to the Cobb County Jail by Sheriff’s Office personnel and will appear before a Magistrate Judge for a First Appearance hearing later today.
