On July 26, 2011 at approximately 6:15 pm, an inmate from the Cobb County Adult Detention Facility escaped on foot from the Intake Area as he was returning from a scheduled court appearance.   Preliminary reports indicate that Anthony L. According to Sheriff Neil Warren, Pierce was located and apprehended around 9:00 pm in the perimeter of the Jail Complex.    “I would like to thank the Georgia State Patrol, The Cobb County Police Department, the Marietta Police Department and the Atlanta Police Department for their assistance in locating the suspect.   Due to the rapid response of the Sheriff’s Office in coordination with these other agencies, the inmate was apprehended without incident and is back in custody at the Cobb County Jail” stated Warren.

Pierce was arrested on November 4, 2010 on misdemeanor charges of fighting in a public place and disrupting of public schools.    While in custody, an additional warrant was taken by the Sheriff Office on November 19, 2010 for felony obstruction, simple battery and aggravated battery.   He now faces additional charges of escape.
