COBB
COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE
GEORGIA ELECTRONIC LIFE SAFETY AND
SYSTEMS ASSOCIATION (GELSSA) SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO THE DAUGHTER OF COBB
COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY.
Amy Webster, daughter of
Cobb County Sheriff’s Deputy S.J. Webster and Jenny Webster, is the recipient
of the 2011 Georgia Electronic Life Safety and Systems Association (GELSSA)
Scholarship. Amy graduated from Harrison High School
with a 4.7 grade point average and will be attending the University of Georgia
in August. She plans to study
genetics.
Several years ago, GELSSA
established a scholarship award for Georgia High School Seniors who are the
sons or daughters of active Georgia Law Enforcement Officers or
Firefighters. “Amy is an outstanding
student with very impressive academic achievements as well as extracurricular
and community activities” said Diane Freeland of GELSSA. “This is our way to say thank you and to
recognize and honor children of the men and women who maintain the safety and
security of our communities” said Freeland. “Deputy Webster and his wife
Jenny have every right to be proud of Amy’s accomplishments” said Sheriff
Neil Warren. “As parents, they have
been excellent role models and have instilled in her the values, skills and
confidence necessary to lead a productive and fulfilling life.”
The Georgia Electronic Life
Safety & Systems Association has approximately 225 members throughout the
state. The membership consists of
companies that sell, design, install, maintain and monitor electronic burglar
and fire alarm systems.
