COBB PRESS RELEASEWarrant Issued for Kennesaw Student On Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the approximately 6:00 pm, the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Ms. Jessica Colotl, 21, years of age, of Duluth, GA. Ms. Colotl was originally arrested on March 30, 2010 by Kennesaw University Police Department on charges of impeding the flow of traffic, no license and also had a hold placed on her by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She was released to ICE on April 1, 2010. According to the warrant, Ms. Colotl was charged with violating O.C.G.A. Section
16-10-20, committing the offense of False Statement, which is a felony. When originally processed into the Cobb
County Detention Facility on March 30, 2010, Ms. Colotl
knowingly filled out and completed the official Cobb County Sheriff’s Office
Immigration information with a false statement. She provided and stated she lived at “It is sad that Ms. Colotl’s parents chose to enter the Sheriff Warren further stated “some may think it is unfortunate that
minor offenders are caught in the 287(g) net; but I value any tool that helps
