Deputies Arrest Forgery Suspects

 

 

      On April 21, 2010 at approximately 6:00 pm, the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from the Walgreens Pharmacy on Powder Springs Road and Macland Road regarding individuals trying to pass a forged prescription for Oxycodone, a schedule II controlled substance.   Deputies responded immediately and found the suspect and a female passenger in a silver Toyota still at the drugstore’s drive thru.

 

     After seeing the Investigators arrive, the suspects, Jonathon Young, 39, and Tammy Young, 38,  both of Marietta,  left the scene and attempted to allude the Deputies while driving  south on Power Springs.  After a short chase, both suspects abandoned their car on Tiffany Drive and fled on foot.  Mr. Young was apprehended immediately by Deputies and was taken into custody without incident.  Ms. Young ran into nearby woods    The Sheriff’s Office K-9 Tracking Team was deployed and Ms. Young was located shortly by K-9- “Doc” hiding in a ditch covered with debris. She was also taken into custody without incident.

 

     Upon arrest, Deputies found approximately 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine and other drug related items in the vehicle. According to the warrant, he is charged with Forgery, VGCSA Obtaining Controlled Substance By Misrepresentation, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving, Improper Lane Change and VGCSA Possession Methamphetamine.  Ms.  Young is charged with VGCSA Obtain Controlled Substance by Misrepresentation and VGCSA Possession Methamphetamine.

 

     Both are currently in custody at the Cobb County Jail.  Mr. Young has a $50,000 bond and Ms. Young has no bond.  Initial reports indicate they are not related.
