COBB COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES WAIT TABLES FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS

In an effort to raise public awareness and funds for the Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA), Deputies from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office volunteered their time to wait tables at Johnny’s Barbeque in Powder Springs on Tuesday, April 17th.   Deputies waited on customers and cleaned tables for donations that totaled approximately $500.00.

SOGA provides opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in sporting events during the summer and winter Olympic Games.  Through the program, 22,642 Georgia athletes are given the chance to express themselves and test their limits in 23 different sports ranging from badminton, swimming, soccer and gymnastics.  All proceeds from the event will be donated to SOGA.
