Sherriff’s F.A.ST. Unit Arrest Sex Offender

        On March 23, 2010 the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit and FAST (Fugitive Apprehension and Support Team) deputies apprehended Cory Buckley, a convicted sex offender. Buckley was taken into custody without incident.

      Buckley, 34 years of age, while registering a home address in Atlanta with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, was actually residing in Cobb County at 1834 Lantern Ridge Drive, Marietta, GA.  Upon his arrest, Deputies also seized approximately 9 pounds of marijuana as well as a .45 caliber hand gun. 

     According to the warrant, Buckley is charged with Failure to register (F) Sex Offender, residing within 1000 ft. of an area where minors congregate (F) Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (F) Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (F).  He is currently in the Cobb County Jail without bond.
