Warrens Honored at Oscar Gala

Neil Warren and his wife Penny, a social worker at Harrison High School
were presented the 2009 Founders’ Award at the Center for Family Resources
(CFR) 13th Annual Oscar Gala held Sunday, February 22nd at the Cobb
Energy Performing Arts Center. The Founders’ Award was established to recognize
and honor those who donate, volunteer and giver their resources to make a
positive impact on our community. The Warrens were recognized for their support of CFR’s
2008 Thanks for Giving Program. Penny was instrumental in increasing the
school food drive participation by nearly 500 percent. She and Sheriff
Warren also secured the largest monetary donation in the program’s
history. Thanks to their involvement, CFR made organizational history by
providing food for over 1,370 families. Past recipients include Lockheed
Martin, WSB-TV, Bank of North Georgia, UPS, IBM, Publix Supermarkets, the Cobb
County Sheriff’s Office, Fred Bentley, Sr., Howard Ector and Harry Holliday.
