Sheriffs Arrest Suspect Accused of Several Violent
Offenses. On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at approximately 5:00 p.m, a joint effort between the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force resulted in the arrest of Arturo Arenas- Martinez at 700 Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell. Martinez, 51 of Marietta, was wanted by the Marietta Police Department for an incident that occurred on January 1, 2012.
According to Sheriff Neil Warren, Martinez was apprehended after several days of intensive search by the Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. “Hard work, good old fashion detective work and following every lead helped us locate Mr. Martinez” stated Sheriff Warren. Martinez is charged with Aggravated Assault (Intent to Murder); Driving, Duty to Report Accident Resulting in Injury / Death / Property Damage (M) and Cruelty to Children 3rd Degree arising from a Domestic Violence incident that occurred in the City of Marietta. Mr. Martinez was taken into custody without incident. He is currently in custody at the Cobb County Jail and has a $25,000. bond. Additionally, he has a hold from Cherokee County and a detainer placed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. # # # |
