Commander David Sanders began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1988. Throughout his career, his assignments have included Detention, Field Operations, Fugitive, and Fraud. He commanded Criminal Investigations as a Major prior to his appointment to Lieutenant Colonel in November 2016. In 2018 he was assigned the rank of Commander and currently serves as the Assistant Division Commander of the Detention Division.
A life-long resident of Cobb County, he is a graduate of South Cobb High School. Commander Sanders holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University and a Certificate of Local Government Management through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
Commander Sanders and his wife presently reside in West Cobb County, along with their two children who both attend Kennesaw State University.
