Colonel Milton Beck, Division Commander

As Chief Investigator, Colonel Beck is third in command of one of the largest Sheriff's Offices in the state and is responsible for the day to day operations of Field and Court Services as well as Investigations. Beck began his employment with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office in 1989 as a Deputy Sheriff. Throughout his career, he has held numerous positions and has been assigned to every division of the Sheriff's Office includding MCS Narcotics Unit, the Cobb County Adult Detention Facilities, Operations, and the Executive Office. In 2003, Beck was promoted to the rank of Major and was the Assistant Division Commander for Inspectional Services.
Beck is a 1983 graduate of Osborne High School and attended WEstern Carolina University where he earned a BS degree. Beck graduated Leadership Cobb in 2003 and is a 2001 graduate of Cobb County's Excel Management Program. Beck is a graduate of the Honorary Commander's Class.
Lt. Colonel Janet Prince Assistant Division Commander

Lt. Col. Janet Prince began her law-enforcement career in 1986, employed by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office where she worked as a Correctional Officer. In 1990, she began the start of her career with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office and has worked her way through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Major, to her current position in Detention as the Assistant Facility Commander. Lt. Col. Prince attended Brevard Community college and is currently obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University.

General Information
The Cobb County Jail Complex is located at 1825 County Services Road. The Jail is a Pretrial Facility and encompasses approximately 11 acres under roof. The original Jail (Building A) was completed in 1987 at a cost of $13.5 million dollars. The Jail was expanded (Building B) in 1997 at cost of $39.2 million dollars. Both were paid for by property bonds. The most recent expansion - C Tower was completed in 2010 at a cost of $110 million dollars and was funded through a special sales tax. The total bed capacity for A, B and C Tower is 3,077.
