Congratulations Colonel David Sanders!

Commander David Sanders was recently appointment to the rank of Colonel over the Detention Division.

Colonel Sanders began his career with the sheriffs office in 1988. Throughout his career, his assignments have included Detention, Field Operations, Fugitive, and Fraud. He commanded Criminal Investigations as a Major prior to his appointment to Lieutenant Colonel in November 2016. In 2018, he was assigned the rank of Commander and served as the Assistant Division Commander of the Detention Division. Today, he was appointed to the rank of Colonel of the Detention Division.

A life-long resident of Cobb County, he is a graduate of South Cobb High School. Colonel Sanders holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University and a Certificate of Local Government Management through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

Colonel Sanders and his wife presently reside in West Cobb County. They have two children that attend Kennesaw State University.
