Prison


The prison was originally built in 1944 as a State Prison, which consisted of over 500 acres of farmland.

The Prison Unit housed inmates serving their sentences locally pursuant to court order. Typically those inmates had been convicted of misdemeanor or non-violent felony charges with sentences of less than 24 months.
The locally sentenced inmates have been relocated to the Work Deployment Center. The facility is still used by the Sheriff's Office for various purposes. We have relocated some of our training efforts in the facility. Read more...
