Visitation Guidelines
The following list of regulations applies to inmate visitation:
Failure to comply with any of these rules will result in immediate termination of the visit and the temporary or permanent barring of the visitor from further visitation. Each inmate is allowed only one (1) visiting session each scheduled visitation day. Each visit will be limited to 30 minutes. The time starts at 15 minutes after the hour and ends 45 minutes after the hour. Visitors must complete the registration process at the visitation desk 10 minutes before the hour to attend the current visitation session. After registration, the visitor must remain in the lobby until the inmate’s name is called. All visitors must pass a security screening process similar to that for air travel. Only two attempts to successfully complete the screening will be permitted. As a result, visitors should store all personal items in the lockers in the lobby or in their personal vehicles. Contact visits are not permitted. A maximum of four individuals (including children over 2 years of age) will be permitted to visit during a visitation session. All visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All visitors 16 years of age and older must present a government issued photo identification card in order to visit. Children must be kept under control at all times and may not be left unattended at any time. Visitors will not be allowed to pass anything to the inmates. Attempting to pass items could result in prosecution under Georgia Law. Intoxicated visitors will not be allowed to visit and may be subject to arrest. Food, drink and tobacco products are not allowed in the lobby, visitation area, or anywhere within the facility. Money may be left for the inmate at the Accounting window. Visitors are not permitted to stand or loiter anywhere near a perimeter fence. Visitors are prohibited from inappropriately exposing themselves to inmates. Visitors are not permitted to attempt to communicate with inmates from the facility parking lot. Such actions will result in the individual being barred from the premises and his/her visitation privileges suspended or revoked. Inmates in disciplinary segregation may be visited only by their attorneys, law enforcement officials, and the facility chaplains. Visitors who have criminal records or who have been previously incarcerated may not be allowed to visit. This decision will be made on a case by case basis. Dress Code: Visitors must be appropriately dressed in order to visit an inmate.
For men, this means that they must wear long pants, trousers, jeans or shorts no more than 2 inches above the knee; shoes and a shirt with sleeves.
For women, must wear shoes, long pants or shorts no more than 2 inches above the knee, or a conservative dress no more than 2 inches above the knee.
